On Jul. 30, CARE About Fibroids Executive Director Jenny Rosenberg participated in a fireside chat sponsored by the Black Women's Health Imperative (BWHI) entitled "Suffering in Silence: Our Fight with Uterine Fibroids." The chat, which also featured The White Dress Project Founder Tanika Gray Valburn, Melissa Harris-Perry, and Cynthia Bailey touched on a wide array of issues pertaining to uterine fibroids, including disease management, treatment, and black women's experiences with fibroids.
In a letter to the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, CARE About Fibroids and 17 leading fibroids and women's health stakeholders joined a letter of support penned by the Black Womens' Health Imperative for The Uterine Fibroid Research and Education Act (H.R.6383/S.4397). CARE About Fibroids is proud to join BWHI and our stakeholder partners in supporting this vitally important effort. Today, Responsum Health (Responsum) announced the launch of an online empowerment, knowledge, and support platform for women with uterine fibroids (UF)—a condition that affects 70% to 80% of all women by the age of 50.
